What role will you play?

The Information Security Operations team is a small and dedicated team tasked with monitoring the security products deployed within the Canada Post Group of Companies’ networks to ensure we can detect and resolve security incidents.  As a Security Operations Analyst you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to help support the vulnerability management program.  You will be responsible for reviewing and validating vulnerabilities within the systems and working with system owners to identify and validate resolutions or workarounds.  You will also identify the impact of new vulnerabilities on our systems. 

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Identifying and ranking newly found vulnerabilities based and reporting findings to technology owner
  • Validating the additional risk the vulnerability poses to our internal systems
  • Working with technology owner to identify resolution and implementation timelines
  • Working with other security teams to document any additional risk
  • Validating vulnerabilities have been properly resolved
  • Reporting to all business levels on the success of the program

This role is not for a penetration tester or vulnerability researcher.  You will be obtaining and processing data from vulnerability scanners and external threat feeds.

What does it take for this role to be yours?

  • 4+ years experience with security vulnerability
  • 4+ years experience with incident response
  • Passion for information security and in particular vulnerability management
  • Insight into vulnerability and risk management
  • Finesse to transfer your passion to others to ensure quick remediation
  • Desire to improve processes and make things better
  • Curiosity to understand why and how

Additional skills that set you apart:

  • Experience in other areas of security including incident response, internet filtering, email security, EDR
  • Experience in other areas of IT (development, support, networking, database, etc.)
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, VBA) including API calls (Asset)

Education and certification:

  • College Diploma or higher preferably in an information security or computer field of study

Your Assigned Office Location for this position will either be our Ottawa or Toronto office based on the requirements for your role.
