What role will you play?

Innovapost requires a Senior Solution Architect to augment the Solution Architecture Team in the Chief Commercial Marketing Office (CCMO). The Solution Architect is a key project role responsible for solution definition on upcoming Innovapost / Canada Post IT projects as well as updates to existing ones.
The solution architect works with a project team to take business requirements and produce a Solution Design, and then to size and cost it. They are responsible for presenting the solution to the Innovapost / Canada Post Architecture Review Board and for supporting the project architecturally during it’s subsequent development. The solution architect may also be called up to provide technical leadership in the event of production incidents.

This role can be posted in either Toronto or Ottawa.
 

What you'll be responsible for:

•    Be the focal point for the technology solution for Innovapost / Canada Post IT projects.
•    Deliver a customized solution by assessing client requirements and translating them into a technical framework.
•    Assist senior management in meetings and presentations.
•    Work closely with groups in an environment with a mix of old and new applications using existing and new micro services to build applications that meet business and enterprise architecture requirements.
•    Ensure the oversight and coordination of dependencies across the project to resolve or escalate conflicts.
 

What does it take for this role to be yours?

•    Previous technical experience working within a software application development team
•    In-depth understanding and experience with application and web site development, deployment, and support.
•    Experience in using both traditional Software development and SDLC as well as emerging methods, such as DevOps, Agile and Scrum, that are optimized for agility
•    Proven ability to interact with customers to transfer customer needs into something that can be put into a design or user story and implemented by developers into a digital application
•    Experience in Cloud technologies and Platforms

Additional skills that set you apart:

In-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies including micro service architecture, API - Web services (e.g. REST), Single Page Applications(SPA) , IBM MQ, Database technologies (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Cassandra)

Education and certification:

•    Academic : undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, business, or equivalent (required),
•    Certifications / skills (asset): TOGAF, ITIL foundations, IT Architecture Certification, SOA, Integration technologies (DataStage/MQ)
