What role will you play?

The Business Analyst (“BA”) collaborates with the Business Solution Delivery team (“BSD”) and related technical resources to analyze, define, validate and document business requirements in an agile way. The Business Analyst understands the needs of multiple stakeholders and facilitates the negotiation of requirements amongst multiple stakeholders. The BA bridges the needs of the business partners with the use of IT and identify options for designing and improving business systems. This individual understands business processes, process analysis/management, and their related IT requirements.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Define and utilize relevant business analysis techniques and methodologies to perform solution analysis and design, including, requirements management, requirements elicitation, requirements analysis , process modeling, organization modeling, support of user acceptance testing, defect and issue reporting and development of test cases based on user stories.

  • Drive the definition, optimization, improvement, and approved changes to new and existing business processes and IT

  • Help the business stakeholders envision the future and how their work will need to change to support the future

  • Manage process conformance and compliance as appropriate (e.g. PCI)

  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

  • Development of functional designs or detailed user stories

What does it take for this role to be yours?

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role

  • Client management: Experienced in effectively interacting and communicating with business teams; can consolidate business requirements and translate them into IT deliverables (user stories, diagrams, etc.).

  • Business analysis: familiar with complex modeling techniques and able to lead functional requirement walkthrough and quality reviews.

  • Value management: can identify the effectiveness and completeness of business requirements towards the objectives and key values defined by the client.

Additional skills that set you apart:

  • Understands principles of iterative development, and able to document business requirements as Agile user stories

  • Utilize modeling tools and techniques to gather requirements

Education and certification:

  • Academic : university degree in business or IT or equivalent experience or combination thereof (required),

  • Certifications: Certified business analysis professional (CBAP) (Asset), BABOK (Asset), ITIL foundations (Asset), Project Management Professional (PMP), TOGAF certification (Asset)

Innovapost has a highly flexible Hybrid Workplace Practice which outlines our default work arrangement as ‘Hybrid Local’. This enables employees to work from either a Local Personal Residence, an Assigned Office Location, or both. Your Assigned Office Location for this position will either be our Ottawa or Toronto office based on the requirements for your role. 

Specifically, ‘Local’ refers to a location either within the National Capital Region (NCR) or the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), as employees are expected to be within reasonable commuting distance of one of our offices. Hybrid Local does not mean that employees work from home all the time, nor does it mean that employees are in the office all the time. 

Hybrid work arrangements enable employees to collaborate in person with their colleagues as determined by their leadership team. This may include events and activities established to enhance in-person collaboration.
